About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Integrity Engineer to join their expert team in Southampton , Hampshire. This role is vital for ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability, and longevity of critical structures within the oil and gas industry , including offshore platforms and onshore facilities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection strategies, assessing structural condition, and recommending maintenance and repair actions to prevent failures and optimize asset performance. This is a key position for an engineer committed to upholding the highest standards of asset integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive structural integrity management (SIM) plans for offshore and onshore assets.
- Plan and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection activities to assess structural condition.
- Analyze inspection data, structural assessments, and fitness-for-service (FFS) evaluations.
- Recommend and manage repair and strengthening solutions for damaged or degraded structures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DNV, API).
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure structural integrity is maintained throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development of risk-based inspection (RBI) strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural integrity engineering , specifically within the oil and gas sector .
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and knowledge of material degradation mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of NDT methods and international codes and standards for structural integrity.
- Experience with risk-based inspection (RBI) principles and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and clear, concise communication skills.
