You will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet stringent safety, performance, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Develop detailed CAD models and drawings for fabricated structures, supports, and mechanical assemblies.
- Conduct stress, strain, and fatigue analysis using FEA software to predict component behavior under various load conditions.
- Collaborate with naval architects, project managers, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger projects.
- Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring quality control and adherence to design specifications.
- Investigate structural failures or performance issues, developing and implementing effective solutions.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in structural analysis or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural mechanical design, preferably within the marine or offshore industry .
- Expertise in FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of material science, mechanics of solids, and welding/fabrication techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications effectively.
