About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Structural Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team based in Sunderland . Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and design of mechanical components and systems using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other advanced simulation tools.
• Develop technical specifications and drawings for structural elements, ensuring compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and installation.
• Investigate and resolve structural issues that may arise during product development, testing, or in-service operation.
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis results, design recommendations, and validation procedures.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in structural mechanical engineering and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with a focus on structural analysis.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design and analysis of mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, solid mechanics, and dynamics.
• Experience with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ASME).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
