Structural Steel Erector

About the Role

Our client is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Structural Steel Erectors to join their construction team in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for the safe and efficient erection of structural steel frameworks for a variety of construction projects, including commercial buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities. This physically demanding role requires precision, teamwork, and a strong commitment to adhering to all safety regulations. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the successful completion of key infrastructure projects within the Edinburgh area and beyond, working at heights and in challenging site conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely erect structural steel members, including columns, beams, and bracing, according to project plans and specifications.
• Assemble and install connections using bolts, welding, or other fastening methods.
• Work at heights using safety harnesses and other fall protection equipment.
• Operate and maintain lifting equipment, such as cranes and hoists, in coordination with signalers.
• Read and interpret steel erection drawings and related construction documents.
• Collaborate effectively with crane operators, riggers, and other construction personnel to ensure smooth project progression.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Structural Steel Erector or similar construction role.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding steel erection plans and structural drawings.
• Experience with various types of structural steel connections and fastening methods.
• Certified in relevant safety procedures, including working at heights and manual handling.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
• Possession of relevant CSCS card and willingness to undergo further safety training.
