Subsea Controls Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Subsea Controls Engineer to join their offshore projects division, based in Plymouth, Devon, UK , focusing on the Oil & Gas sector. This role is essential for the design, specification, and testing of subsea control systems, ensuring the reliable operation of underwater production equipment. You will collaborate with a team of specialists to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for complex subsea field developments, contributing to the advancement of offshore energy technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop subsea control system architecture, including hydraulic, electrical, and communication systems.
• Specify and select subsea control modules, topside distribution panels, and associated equipment.
• Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for subsea control systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and operational manuals.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operational phases of subsea projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsea controls engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proven knowledge of subsea control system components, such as PLCs, sensors, actuators, and multiplexed systems.
• Experience with industry standards relevant to subsea control systems (e.g., API, ISO).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
