About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Subsea Engineer to join their innovative team in Edinburgh , working a hybrid model that combines remote design and analysis with periodic site or offshore visits. You will be responsible for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of subsea production systems and infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of subsea equipment, fluid dynamics, and project management, ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of offshore operations. You will contribute to the lifecycle management of subsea assets, from conceptual design through to decommissioning, playing a key role in delivering complex offshore projects successfully and efficiently, while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and manage subsea production equipment, including christmas trees, manifolds, and umbilicals.
- Perform structural and hydrodynamic analysis of subsea components and systems.
- Develop installation procedures and oversee subsea construction and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with subsea equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations for subsea operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, fabricators, and offshore personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in subsea engineering within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of subsea system design, components, and interfaces.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software for design and analysis (e.g., CAD, FEA).
- Experience with subsea installation and commissioning processes.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
