About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Subsea Engineer to join their engineering division supporting offshore projects, with a base in Edinburgh . This role involves the design, analysis, and management of subsea systems and equipment used in the oil and gas industry, including pipelines, risers, and structures. You will collaborate with project teams to ensure subsea components are designed, manufactured, installed, and operated safely and efficiently. This is a challenging role for an engineer looking to make a significant contribution to complex offshore developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze subsea structures, pipelines, and associated equipment.
- Perform stress analysis, fatigue calculations, and structural integrity assessments.
- Develop installation procedures and support offshore operations.
- Liaise with contractors, fabricators, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for subsea systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to subsea equipment during operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in subsea engineering for offshore oil and gas projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, OrcaFlex).
- Strong understanding of subsea codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API).
- Experience with pipeline engineering and riser analysis.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, suitable for a hybrid role based in Edinburgh .
