About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Subsea Engineer to join their expanding team in Edinburgh . This role is integral to the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea production systems for oil and gas fields. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of subsea assets, from conceptual design and FEED to installation support and ongoing operational management. The position requires a strong technical understanding of subsea equipment, fluid dynamics, and project execution in a challenging marine environment, contributing to the successful delivery of complex offshore projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and analyze subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, umbilicals, and flowlines.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for subsea systems.
- Support the planning and execution of subsea installation campaigns, including vessel mobilisation and offshore operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to subsea equipment performance and integrity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., API, ISO) and company best practices for subsea engineering.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, HSEQ, and procurement departments.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsea engineering within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in subsea system design, analysis, and relevant software tools.
- Strong understanding of subsea installation methods, vessel capabilities, and offshore challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience in managing technical interfaces.
