About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Substance Misuse Outreach Worker to join their essential team in Nottingham . This non-remote role involves actively engaging with individuals experiencing issues with substance misuse within the community, providing support, harm reduction advice, and facilitating access to treatment services. You will be instrumental in building trust, offering a non-judgmental presence, and guiding individuals towards recovery pathways. This role requires resilience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on a vulnerable population.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively engage with individuals experiencing substance misuse in various community settings.
• Provide harm reduction advice and resources, including clean needle exchange and naloxone distribution.
• Conduct initial assessments and provide brief interventions to support recovery.
• Signpost individuals to appropriate treatment services, including detoxification, rehabilitation, and counselling.
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients and relevant partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of outreach activities and client engagement.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals experiencing substance misuse or in a similar support role.
• Good understanding of addiction, harm reduction principles, and recovery models.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and motivational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
• Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for outreach work is essential.
