Subsurface Geologist

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking energy company, is seeking a highly skilled Subsurface Geologist for a fully remote position. This role is integral to the company's exploration and development efforts within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for analyzing geological data, identifying prospective areas for hydrocarbon accumulation, and contributing to the integrated subsurface understanding of assets. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with a global team of geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and geophysicists to de-risk exploration plays and optimize field development strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geologist seeking a challenging role with significant autonomy and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret geological data from well logs, core samples, and seismic surveys to construct geological models.
• Identify and evaluate exploration prospects and development opportunities.
• Integrate geological interpretations with geophysical and engineering data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Contribute to the development of field development plans and production optimization strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and potential partners.
• Stay abreast of new geological technologies and methodologies relevant to the Oil & Gas sector .

Requirements

• Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; a Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in subsurface geology, preferably within the exploration and production domain.
• Proficiency with geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of sedimentary basin analysis, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
