About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Supply Chain Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of the supply chain for their FMCG operations based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of goods from procurement to delivery, optimizing inventory levels, and managing logistics to meet consumer demand. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain complexities within the fast-moving consumer goods sector and a proven ability to implement process improvements. You will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and driving cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics, reduce lead times, and improve delivery performance in the FMCG sector.
- Oversee inventory control, forecasting, and demand planning to ensure product availability and minimize stockouts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards within the supply chain operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in optimizing logistics, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Familiarity with supply chain software and ERP systems.
