Supply Chain Optimization Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a strategic Supply Chain Optimization Engineer to drive efficiencies within their logistics and supply chain operations in Leeds . This role focuses on leveraging industrial engineering expertise to streamline material flow, reduce costs, and improve the overall responsiveness of the supply chain network. You will analyze complex logistical challenges, design innovative solutions, and implement strategies that enhance inventory management, transportation, and warehousing operations. The successful candidate will be adept at data analysis and possess a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end supply chain processes, including inventory, warehousing, and transportation, to identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce supply chain costs, improve delivery times, and enhance inventory accuracy.
• Utilize modeling and simulation tools to design and test new supply chain network configurations.
• Collaborate with logistics providers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure efficient flow of goods.
• Implement and manage supply chain technologies, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, or operations management.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and network design.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and supply chain modeling software.
• Experience with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong project management capabilities.
