Supply Chain Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Supply Chain Planner to optimize inventory levels and ensure the efficient flow of goods for their FMCG operations based in Belfast . This role is crucial in balancing demand and supply, minimising stock-outs, and reducing excess inventory costs. Working within a hybrid model, you will coordinate with manufacturing, logistics, and sales teams to forecast demand accurately and plan production schedules accordingly. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the operational efficiency of a leading FMCG company in Northern Ireland , ensuring products reach consumers smoothly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market intelligence, and sales input.
• Create and manage production and inventory plans to meet customer demand while optimising stock levels and minimising costs.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing and delivery of materials and finished goods.
• Monitor key supply chain metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels) and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify and resolve supply chain disruptions, proactively implementing contingency plans to mitigate risks.
• Participate in cross-functional S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to align on plans and strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or demand forecasting, preferably within the FMCG sector .
• Proficiency in supply chain planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effective in a hybrid working environment across Belfast and remote locations.
• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
