Support Worker - Adult Disabilities

About the Role

Our client is looking for empathetic and proactive Support Workers to join their dedicated team in Birmingham , focusing on assisting adults with diverse disabilities. You will empower individuals to live fulfilling lives by providing tailored personal care, assistance with daily living, and fostering independence. This role is crucial in ensuring our service users receive compassionate, person-centred care that respects their dignity and promotes their inclusion within the community. You will work closely with a supportive team committed to delivering high standards of care and support in a residential and community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care, including hygiene, mobility, and medication support, according to individual care plans.
• Assist service users with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, household tasks, and accessing community resources.
• Promote independence and encourage service users to engage in hobbies, social activities, and personal development.
• Support individuals in developing social skills and building relationships within their community.
• Observe and report any changes in a service user's condition or well-being to the senior care team.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for all service users.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care setting, ideally with adults with learning disabilities or physical impairments.
• A genuine passion for helping others and a patient, caring demeanour.
• Good communication and listening skills, with the ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Willingness to undertake training, including mandatory care certifications.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-in duties.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and promoting dignity and respect.
