Job Advert (REF: 309) Support Worker – Cardiff Contract: Permanent Location: Cardiff Hours per week: 12 hours per week (to include 2 x 6-hour shifts per week) Working Pattern: 2 x 6-hour shifts (between 9am and 5pm) one weekday and one weekend (flexibility essential) Pay per hour: £16 Closing date: Wednesday 14th October 2026 I am 23 years old and have complex health needs due to a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. I need 24/7 2:1 support in all areas of daily life and require lots of support daily with personal care, communication and mobility. I really enjoy being around other people and I have a great sense of humour. Those who know me best, describe me as ‘a bit cheeky, knowing my own mind, great fun and loving’. I am looking for enthusiastic, fun, patient and reliable support worker to help me engage in the activities I love such as bowling, the cinema and music concerts. I also need support to attend therapy appointments and complete my rehabilitation programme. You will need to be calm and patient under pressure with the ability to work your hours flexibly. You will be part of my amazing team which is led by my parents and case manager. A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS.
Essential Information
To join me as a Support Worker it is essential you:
- Have experience of working with young adults who have personal care needs.
- Have experience of working people with significant communication impairments.
- Be able to drive and have use of a car and be willing to drive my Motability van.
- Have the ability to work your hours flexibly.
- Be willing to register with Social Care Wales.
