Support Worker - Elderly Care

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join their team focused on providing high-quality care to the elderly in Coventry . This role is vital in enabling individuals to live with dignity, independence, and comfort in their own homes or within a residential setting. You will offer practical assistance, emotional support, and companionship, playing a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care needs, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility, with respect and dignity.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals, and support clients with feeding if necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications as per care plans and ensure safe storage and recording.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote well-being.
• Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the care manager promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably with the elderly, is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards vulnerable individuals.
• Ability to follow care plans accurately and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and promoting their independence.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as per the rota.
