Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)

About the Role

Our client is looking for empathetic and patient Support Workers with a passion for assisting individuals with learning disabilities in Leeds . This role is focused on empowering individuals to lead more independent and fulfilling lives within their community. You will provide essential personal care, emotional support, and practical assistance, enabling clients to develop their skills and achieve their personal goals. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, adhering to their individual care plans.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, household tasks, and meal preparation.
• Support clients in engaging with community activities, hobbies, and social opportunities to promote inclusion and well-being.
• Encourage independence and help clients develop life skills through positive reinforcement and guidance.
• Accurately document all care provided and report any changes in clients' well-being or behaviour to supervisors.
• Work collaboratively with families, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and high-quality support service.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals with varying communication styles.
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training and develop professionally within the care sector.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-in duties.
