Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities in their homes and community.
• Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, medication management, and household chores as needed.
• Support individuals to access community activities, employment, education, and social opportunities.
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of care provided.
• Work collaboratively with families, support networks, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of support provided, progress, and any concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly preferred.
• A genuine desire to work with and support vulnerable adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures for adults with learning disabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts if required.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care are advantageous.
