Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join their Community & Social Care team in Wolverhampton , specializing in support for individuals with learning disabilities. You will provide essential assistance to enable clients to live fulfilling, independent lives within their community. This role requires empathy, patience, and a commitment to promoting dignity, choice, and control for each individual. You will work as part of a dedicated team focused on delivering person-centred care and support in the West Midlands area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Support clients in engaging in social, recreational, and educational activities within the community.
• Promote independence and encourage clients to develop life skills and make their own choices.
• Administer medication as prescribed, following all relevant policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with families, support networks, and other professionals involved in the client's care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any changes in client condition.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Support Worker, ideally with individuals with learning disabilities .
• Understanding of person-centred care principles and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Willingness to undertake further training and development.
• A compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to help others in Wolverhampton .
