Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking enthusiastic and caring Support Workers to join their team in Bradford , dedicated to supporting individuals with learning disabilities. This role involves providing person-centred support, assisting with personal care, community engagement, and helping clients to achieve their personal goals. Working within the West Yorkshire community, you will be a vital part of a compassionate team committed to high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing direct support to individuals with learning disabilities, tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
• Assisting with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Supporting clients to engage in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
• Encouraging independence and decision-making in all areas of life.
• Working with families and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring for any adverse effects.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
• A compassionate and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including medication administration and safeguarding.
• Must be able to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
