Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with daily living activities as per their care plan.
• Promote independence and encourage individuals to engage in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
• Support individuals with personal care, medication administration, and healthcare appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and external agencies.
• Assist in creating and implementing individualised support plans, reflecting the unique needs and aspirations of each person.
• Observe and report any changes in an individual's condition or behaviour to the relevant supervisor or healthcare professional.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care setting, ideally supporting individuals with learning disabilities, is preferred but not essential.
• A compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives.
• Good communication and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including mandatory care certifications.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles within a care environment.
