Support Worker (Vulnerable Adults) - Sunderland

About the Role

Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to vulnerable adults in Sunderland . This role involves working directly with individuals to promote their independence, well-being, and inclusion within the community. You will be part of a committed team, delivering personalised support tailored to the unique needs of each resident or service user. Working within the Tyne and Wear region, you will be an integral part of a service focused on dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist service users with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility, with dignity and respect.
• Support individuals in daily living activities, such as meal preparation, domestic tasks, and managing finances.
• Promote independence and encourage service users to engage in social, recreational, and educational activities.
• Monitor the well-being of service users, reporting any changes or concerns to the relevant supervisor or manager.
• Administer medication as prescribed, adhering to strict protocols and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided and observations made.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and the importance of confidentiality.
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
• A genuine desire to care for and support vulnerable adults in the Sunderland area.
