Job Description
Support Worker - Southampton
We are looking for a Female Support worker to work with a young person with cerebral palsy and hearing loss in her own home in the Southampton area. The role will involve personal care, assisting with occupational therapy and physiotherapy, social and leisure outings, and supporting her to develop independent living skills.
Client has a small dog - normally walked by family but the goal would be to include walking the dog as an activity.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to the young person.
- Assist with occupational therapy and physiotherapy sessions.
- Support social and leisure outings.
- Help develop independent living skills.
- Walk the client’s dog as part of activity routine.
Requirements
- Previous experience is essential.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care or comparable experience.
- Competent IT skills are desirable.
- Fully enhanced DBS disclosure and registration with DBS Update Service.
- Female applicants only due to nature of personal care required.
- Ability to attend interviews via Teams/Zoom or face-to-face locally.
Hours & Pay
15 hours per week after school hours and weekends. £16.00 - £18.00 per hour. Job share considered for fewer hours.
Location
Southampton, working in the client’s own home.
