Supported Living Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking enthusiastic and caring Supported Living Support Workers to join their team in Sheffield . This role focuses on assisting individuals with diverse needs, including learning disabilities and mental health conditions, to live independently and with dignity in their own homes within a supported living environment. You will provide practical assistance, emotional support, and encourage community engagement, empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. This is a hands-on role that requires patience, understanding, and a commitment to person-centred care, working closely with residents and a dedicated support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Support residents in engaging with their community, attending appointments, and pursuing personal interests.
• Help individuals develop life skills, promoting independence and self-reliance.
• Implement and follow individual support plans, ensuring care is tailored to specific needs and preferences.
• Promote residents' rights, dignity, and choices at all times.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided and any observed changes in well-being.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care or support role, ideally within supported living or similar settings.
• Understanding of learning disabilities , mental health, or complex care needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage individual caseloads.
• Commitment to promoting independence, inclusion, and safeguarding.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, within the Sheffield area.
