About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Surface Mining Supervisor to lead their operational team near Norwich, Norfolk . This role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of open-pit mining techniques to ensure efficient, safe, and productive operations. You will be responsible for managing daily activities, coordinating crews and equipment, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily activities of surface mining crews.
• Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor production targets and equipment performance, implementing measures for optimization.
• Coordinate the use of heavy machinery and ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed.
• Train and mentor team members, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Surface Mining Supervisor or in a similar leadership role in mining.
• Solid knowledge of open-pit mining methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make timely decisions.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations pertaining to surface mining.
• First Aid and relevant safety certifications preferred.
