About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking architectural practice in Glasgow , is seeking a dedicated Sustainable Design Architect to champion environmentally conscious design principles across their projects. You will be instrumental in integrating green building technologies, materials, and strategies into all stages of the design process, from concept to completion. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of environmental performance, energy efficiency, and sustainable development practices. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of sustainable design strategies and environmental performance targets into architectural projects.
• Conduct energy modeling, life cycle assessments, and other environmental analysis.
• Research and specify sustainable materials, technologies, and construction methods.
• Advise clients and design teams on best practices for achieving high environmental performance (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
• Collaborate with engineers and consultants to optimize building performance and reduce carbon footprint.
• Promote awareness and knowledge of sustainable design principles within the practice and with external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with a proven interest and experience in sustainable architecture and green building design.
• Knowledge of environmental assessment tools and certifications (BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus).
• Understanding of building physics, energy efficiency, and renewable energy systems.
• Experience with sustainable material selection and life cycle assessment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams in Glasgow .
