Systems Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Systems Installation Technician to join their installation and maintenance team in Reading . This role is crucial for the successful deployment and initial setup of advanced systems and equipment across various client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that installations are performed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, directly contributing to client satisfaction and operational continuity. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with strong practical skills and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving in a field-based role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the physical installation and setup of systems and equipment according to detailed technical plans and specifications.
• Conduct thorough testing and verification of installed systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the installation process.
• Ensure all installation activities are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of installation work, including site notes and completion reports.
• Provide basic operational information to end-users as part of the handover process.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a technical installation, field service, or similar hands-on role.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to system installation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing installation tasks.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• A valid UK driving licence is required, with the ability to travel within the Reading area and Berkshire region.
