About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Tax Accountant to join their established finance team in Reading . This role is responsible for managing the company's tax compliance, planning, and advisory functions. You will ensure that all tax obligations are met accurately and efficiently, while also identifying opportunities for tax optimization. This position offers a chance to work on diverse tax matters and contribute to the financial strategy of the organisation, operating within a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate corporate tax returns and other statutory tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK tax legislation, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and PAYE.
- Provide tax planning advice to support business decisions and optimize tax efficiency.
- Liaise with HMRC and external tax advisors on behalf of the company.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with the management of tax audits and investigations.
- Support the finance team with tax-related queries and analysis.
Requirements
- Qualified Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a specialization in tax.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate tax role.
- Strong understanding of UK tax law and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software and accounting systems, with strong Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders and authorities.
