About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join their finance department in Derby , operating on a hybrid model. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and optimizing the company's tax position. You will be responsible for preparing and filing various tax returns, providing tax advice, and staying abreast of evolving tax laws. This position requires a professional who can balance office-based collaboration with remote flexibility, contributing expert knowledge in taxation to support the company's financial health and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other relevant tax submissions accurately and on time.
- Provide advice on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and strategies.
- Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning and mitigation to minimize tax liabilities.
- Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure the accuracy of tax provisions in financial statements.
- Support the finance team with any tax-related queries or analysis.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or CTA (Chartered Tax Advisor) is essential.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax areas.
- In-depth knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with colleagues both remotely and in the office.
