About the Role
Our client requires a knowledgeable and meticulous Tax Accountant to manage their tax compliance and advisory needs in Edinburgh . This role is integral to ensuring the company meets all its statutory tax obligations accurately and efficiently, while also identifying opportunities for tax planning and mitigation. You will work closely with the finance team and external advisors to navigate complex tax legislation. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all company tax returns, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE, accurately and on time.
- Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to optimise the company's tax position.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, advising the business accordingly.
- Manage relationships with HMRC and other tax authorities.
- Conduct internal tax reviews and ensure compliance across all business operations.
- Assist with tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in taxation (e.g., ATT, CTA) or a qualified accountant with a strong tax background.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in a corporate tax role, preferably within practice or industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for advising stakeholders.
- Experience with tax software and financial accounting systems.
