Job Description
Tax Assistant Manager - Practice
Midlands | £40,000 – £50,000 | CTA Support | Flexible Working
Are you working in Personal Tax and feeling like you're ready for more than just another compliance role?
Maybe you're already operating at Assistant Manager level, or you're an experienced Tax Senior who's ready for that next step but there isn't currently anywhere for you to go.
I’m working exclusively with a growing independent accountancy practice in the Midlands that is looking for a Tax Assistant Manager to join its tax team.
And importantly, there is a genuine route to Tax Manager here.
What makes this one worth considering?
You'll still have responsibility for your own personal tax portfolio, but this isn't a role where you'll spend every day simply turning around tax returns.
You'll work closely with Managers and Directors and get exposure to more complex and interesting tax work across entrepreneurial businesses, HNW individuals and internationally connected clients.
You'll be able to develop your advisory experience while taking on more responsibility within the team – with the opportunity to progress as you do.
What will you be doing?
You'll get involved in:
*
Managing your own portfolio of personal tax clients
*
Preparing and reviewing UK tax returns
*
Supporting Managers and Directors with tax advisory work
*
Dealing directly with clients and building long-term relationships
*
Reviewing work and supporting more junior members of the team
*
Getting involved in more complex tax matters as your experience develops
*
Playing a part in the continued growth of the tax team
Do you need to be CTA qualified?
No.
If you're already CTA qualified, great. But they're equally interested in someone currently studying towards CTA or an experienced tax professional who can demonstrate the right level of technical knowledge.
The important part is having solid UK accountancy practice experience within Personal Tax, experience managing your own portfolio and the ambition to keep progressing.
So if you're currently a Tax Senior or Assistant Manager and wondering whether you're ready for the next step, I'd still encourage you to have a conversation with me.
What's on offer?
*
£40,000 – £50,000
*
Genuine progression towards Tax Manager
*
CTA/study support
*
Flexible working
*
Increasing holiday entitlement with service
*
Health Cash Plan
*
Free parking
*
Regular team and social events
*
Ongoing training and development
Could this be your next step?
You don't necessarily need to be actively job hunting.
If you're happy enough where you are but you're starting to question how long it will actually take you to reach Manager, it might be worth seeing what else is out there.
Drop me a message and I'll happily talk you through the firm, the opportunity and the progression available.
Everything will be completely confidential
