The Role
As a Teacher of Economics, you will:
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Economics lessons at Key Stage 5.
- Develop students' understanding of key economic concepts and their application in today's global economy.
- Encourage analytical thinking, independent research and informed debate.
- Use effective assessment strategies to monitor progress and maximise student achievement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and academic excellence.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the department.
- Support students in achieving outstanding examination outcomes.
- Play an active role in the wider life of the school community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards achieving QTS.
- A degree in Economics or a closely related discipline.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Economics.
- The ability to inspire, challenge and motivate learners of all abilities.
- High expectations for achievement, behaviour and attendance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.
