About the School

This specialist independent school is a community specialist school that supports 90 pupils with autism and associated needs, from ages 4 to 19. It offers both primary and secondary provision and has recently been refurbished to provide bright, inviting learning environments, classrooms, therapy and sensory rooms.

About the Role

The Teaching Assistant/SEN Trainee Teacher will support learning in a one‑to‑one environment and be trained over 1–2 years to become a member of the teaching team. The role runs Monday to Friday 08:45‑04:45 pm; part‑time applicants must commit to a minimum of three days a week.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and sensory experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum to small groups or on a one‑to‑one basis.

Qualifications

• Creative, friendly and resilient individual committed to supporting learners with SEN
• Experience working or volunteering with children or young adults (desirable)
• GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
• Eligibility to work in the UK
