Teaching Assistant
Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31
Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term to Permanent
Long Term Futures are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. You will be based within a Year 5 class, supporting learning while providing additional support for pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.
The Role
- Support pupils within a Year 6 classroom
- Provide whole-class, small group and 1:1 SEN support
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Support emotional regulation, engagement and learning
- Deliver targeted interventions where required
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
- Confident working with upper KS2 pupils
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Calm, resilient and consistent approach
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Team Teach or Behaviour Management training is highly desirable
