Teaching Assistant - Mainstream & SEN Teaching Assistant Positions

Location - Maldon and surrounding area's

Rates - £90-£110 per day

Destination Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream and SEN schools in Maldon and the surrounding areas.

Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, an aspiring teacher, a recent graduate, or someone with a passion for supporting children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. Depending on the school and your experience, you may work alongside the class teacher in a mainstream setting or provide more tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with their academic and social development
• Working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils
• Assisting the class teacher with learning activities
• Providing additional support to pupils with SEN
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Supporting pupils with their confidence, communication and independence
• Managing behaviour positively and consistently
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Passionate about working with children and young people
• Patient, caring and approachable
• Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
• Confident working as part of a team
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Interested in supporting children with additional needs
• Experienced in education, childcare, youth work or support work (desirable, but not essential)
• Experience working with SEN is highly valued, but full training and support can be provided for candidates with the right attitude and transferable experience.
