Teaching Assistant

2 x Teaching Assistant Positions Available

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-1:00pm

We are currently seeking two dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive Specialist SEN School in Grimsby .

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities , helping them to feel safe, valued, confident, and successful within the classroom.

You will work as part of a highly experienced and supportive team, working within whole-class settings alongside the class teacher and other highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants .

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities within a whole-class environment
• Work closely with the class teacher and experienced support staff to deliver engaging learning activities
• Encourage pupils to participate in learning and develop greater independence
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Provide additional support where required, including personal care
• Follow individual support plans and school policies to ensure pupils receive the appropriate level of care and support

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, calm, caring, and empathetic
• Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
• Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to making a positive difference
• Experienced in working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
• Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and providing high-quality support
