Technical Account Manager – UK & ROI
Location: UK & Republic of Ireland – Field Based Salary: Competitive DOE + Performance-Related Bonus Employment: Full-Time, Permanent Travel: Up to 50% – including customer sites, showrooms, trade shows and occasional travel to Germany
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join an established manufacturer of high-quality furniture fittings and hardware.
Covering the UK and Republic of Ireland, you will become a key technical and commercial contact for customers and channel partners across the furniture manufacturing, kitchen and joinery sectors.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical understanding of kitchen, furniture or associated products who enjoys being customer-facing, providing technical support, delivering product training and building long-term relationships.
Working closely with both the UK and German teams, you will play an important role in supporting customers throughout the product lifecycle, from new product launches through to ongoing technical support and end-of-life management.
The Role
As Technical Account Manager, you will combine technical expertise, customer relationship management and commercial awareness to support and grow our client's UK and ROI customer base.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the primary technical contact for customers, distributors and channel partners across the UK and ROI.
Providing technical support throughout the complete product lifecycle, from product launches through to end-of-life management.
Managing and developing relationships with key customers across the kitchen manufacturing, furniture and joinery sectors.
Delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers and specifiers.
Conducting product training sessions for customers' sales, technical and production teams.
Planning and delivering show truck tours throughout the UK and ROI, showcasing our clients product range directly to customers.
Supporting customers with product selection, technical queries and application requirements.
Building strong relationships with technical, design, production and commercial decision-makers.
Presenting new product ranges, innovations and technical solutions to customers.
Supporting the sales team in strengthening existing relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Identifying cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across the fittings and hardware portfolio.
Managing and developing a portfolio of key accounts across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Supporting agreed sales, margin and growth targets across the territory.
Developing account plans and identifying opportunities for customer and revenue growth.
Gathering customer feedback and sharing valuable market insight with the wider business.
Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and pricing across the UK and ROI furniture fittings market.
Working closely with product management, technical support, supply chain and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Working collaboratively with our clients UK and German teams.
Preparing regular pipeline reports and account reviews for the sales leadership team.
Representing our client at trade shows, customer events and industry exhibitions.
Maintaining accurate CRM records and keeping customer and pipeline information up to date.
Travelling extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional travel to Germany and overnight stays.
About You
We're looking for a technically minded, customer-focused professional who enjoys working face-to-face with customers and has the confidence to explain products, solve technical challenges and deliver engaging training.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in Technical Account Management, Technical Sales, Technical Customer Support, Product Support or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Experience within the kitchen, furniture, joinery, furniture fittings, hardware or a related industry would be highly advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge, ideally relating to kitchen products, furniture fittings, hardware and/or installation.
- Experience providing technical support and resolving customer product or application queries.
- Experience delivering product demonstrations, presentations and customer training.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for working directly with customers.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of account development and sales opportunities.
- The ability to quickly develop detailed knowledge of technical products and solutions.
- A proactive, self-motivated and organised approach, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- A willingness and enthusiasm to travel extensively throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland, including occasional overnight stays and travel to Germany.
- A genuine passion for travelling, meeting customers and developing strong face-to-face relationships.
- The flexibility to travel with the company show truck and deliver on-site product training and demonstrations.
