You will bridge the gap between art and engineering, developing tools, optimizing workflows, and solving technical challenges to empower the art team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain art tools, plugins, and scripts to streamline workflows using Python, MEL, or similar languages.
- Optimize 3D assets, textures, and shaders for performance across target platforms.
- Collaborate with programmers and artists to implement and troubleshoot art pipelines.
- Assist artists with technical challenges related to asset creation, rendering, and engine integration.
- Stay current with engine and software updates, identifying and implementing new technologies to improve the art creation process in Sunderland .
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) and experience with DCC software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max).
- Solid understanding of 3D graphics principles, shaders, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
