About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Director to lead their technology strategy and execution for a range of groundbreaking projects within the Arts & Entertainment sector. This role operates on a fully remote basis, offering the opportunity to shape technical excellence from anywhere. You will be responsible for overseeing the technology pipeline, ensuring that artistic and technical goals are met with efficiency and innovation. Collaborating closely with creative leads, producers, and engineering teams, you will guide the technical direction and champion best practices to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and oversee the overall technical strategy and architecture for projects.
• Manage and mentor technical teams, including engineers, technical artists, and TDs.
• Establish and enforce best practices for software development, pipeline efficiency, and quality assurance.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance production capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions to ensure project timelines are met.
• Collaborate with creative leadership to translate artistic vision into achievable technical plans.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a Technical Director or similar senior technical leadership role within the entertainment industry .
• Strong expertise in multiple areas of production technology, including game engines, rendering, VFX, and pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead and manage diverse technical teams effectively.
• Excellent understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking skills, crucial for a remote leadership position.
• Experience with cloud-based workflows and distributed team collaboration is highly desirable.
