Job Description
Technical Estimator
I'm looking for a Technical Estimator to join a leading UK engineering manufacturer where your technical knowledge will directly influence multi-million-pound projects.
You'll work closely with engineering, production and purchasing teams to produce accurate costings, negotiate the best value with suppliers and help drive cost improvements without compromising quality.
What you'll be doing:
Producing accurate cost estimates from engineering drawings
Pricing raw materials including forgings, bar stock and fasteners
Calculating machining, labour and component costs
Managing supplier quotations and negotiating competitive pricing
Monitoring supplier capacity and lead times
Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain commercially competitive
We're looking for someone with:
A strong engineering or machine shop background
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand machining processes
Experience estimating or costing manufactured components
Knowledge of metals, commodity pricing and manufacturing techniques
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
ERP experience (Syteline advantageous)
