Technical Services Manager – Flagship Central London Building
Location: Central London Salary: £80,000 + discretionary bonus Contract: Permanent Employer: Leading global facilities management business
Nexus Careers is working with a leading global facilities management provider to recruit an experienced Technical Services Manager for a prestigious flagship building in Central London.
This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for the delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering services across a complex commercial property. The successful candidate must come from a strong technical M&E or building services background and be comfortable leading engineering teams, managing contractors and working closely with senior client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of technical and engineering services.
- Manage and develop the on-site engineering team.
- Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely and reliably.
- Oversee planned, reactive and statutory maintenance activities.
- Manage specialist subcontractors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with permits, RAMS and safe systems of work.
- Monitor engineering performance against KPIs and service levels.
- Manage technical incidents, escalations and root-cause investigations.
- Support lifecycle planning, asset replacement and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate compliance, maintenance and operational records.
- Produce reports and present engineering updates to the client.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and service delivery.
- Manage engineering budgets, quotations and expenditure.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong technical background within mechanical, electrical or building services engineering.
- Previous experience in a Technical Services Manager, Engineering Manager or similar position.
- Experience working within a prestigious commercial, corporate or critical environment.
- Strong understanding of M&E infrastructure and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience leading engineers and managing subcontractors.
- Good commercial and financial awareness.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualifications.
- Confident, professional and capable of operating within a flagship environment.
