Weβre looking for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join a professional Facilities Management team, overseeing engineering and maintenance operations across a regional portfolio of sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional with previous supervisory or team leadership experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of engineering teams, planned and reactive maintenance, compliance and technical standards.
Youβll provide technical leadership and operational support to engineers across multiple locations, ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly and to a consistently high standard.
π’ Working across a varied portfolio of commercial and operational facilities, you'll play a key role in managing engineering teams, maintaining service standards, supporting compliance and ensuring the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
π§ What You'll Be Doing:
π·ββοΈ Supervising, supporting and coordinating a team of engineers and maintenance staff across multiple sites. π Managing day-to-day planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities. βοΈ Providing technical guidance and support across mechanical, electrical or M&E building services. π Ensuring PPM schedules are completed within agreed timescales and to the required standards. π Supporting engineers with fault finding, breakdowns and technical issues, ensuring effective resolutions are achieved. π οΈ Coordinating third-party contractors and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with agreed requirements. π¦Ί Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation, statutory requirements, company procedures and site-specific processes. π Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS, risk assessments, permits and safe systems of work. π Monitoring engineering performance, maintenance completion and team productivity. π» Maintaining accurate maintenance and compliance records through CAFM and other relevant systems. π Ensuring engineers' training, qualifications and competency records remain fully up to date. π₯ Managing and supporting the engineering team, including identifying training and development requirements. π Working from home two days per week to focus on team management, administration, compliance, training records, planning and reporting. π Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve engineering performance, service delivery and operational efficiency. π€ Working closely with management, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues. π Participating in an on-call rota approximately one week in four, providing remote technical support and coordinating third-party contractors where required. π¨ Supporting the management of out-of-hours incidents and ensuring appropriate contractors are instructed to attend when necessary. π Travelling between operational sites as required across the wider regional portfolio.
π·ββοΈ What We're Looking For: π§ Proven experience as a Technical Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer or similar within Facilities Management or Building Services. βοΈ Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical or M&E building services.π₯ Previous experience supervising, managing or leading a team of engineers. π’ Experience working across multiple commercial or operational sites. π Strong understanding of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and statutory compliance. π¦Ί Good knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work. π οΈ Experience managing and coordinating third-party contractors and subcontractors. π» Good IT skills, with experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems. π Relevant technical qualifications, such as NVQ, City & Guilds Level 3, HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline. β‘ 18th Edition qualification would be advantageous for candidates with an electrical background. π Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. π€ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to manage and motivate engineering teams. π Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and decision-making abilities. π A proactive approach to identifying operational issues and driving continuous improvement. π Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.
β Desirable:
π HNC/HND or higher qualification in an engineering or building services discipline. π Additional electrical, mechanical or facilities management qualifications. π¦Ί IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification. π» Strong experience with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting. π’ Experience working within large, multi-site Facilities Management environments. π₯ Experience managing engineer training, competency and development programmes. π Knowledge of statutory compliance and relevant building services legislation.
