Technician

My client is looking for an Optical Technician, working on Assembly, Integration & Test, focusing on laser communication systems. You will be supporting production and deployment of optical ground stations. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician to work in a fast‑growing Photonics and space technology company.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate and test complex optical and optomechanical subsystems
• Support system‑level integration and verification of optical ground station products
• Perform precision optical alignment and troubleshooting of optical assemblies
• Develop, maintain and improve test equipment and ground support equipment
• Manage component procurement, supplier coordination and incoming inspection activities
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of materials and components
• Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation and controlled build procedures
• Support customer deployments, installation activities and field maintenance when required

Requirements

• Experience in optical assembly, integration and test environments
• Hands‑on experience building and testing complex optical systems
• Strong optical laboratory and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working independently within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent attention to detail and quality‑focused approach
• Willingness to travel internationally for customer and deployment activities
• Experience with laser communication systems
• Precision optical alignment and optomechanical assembly expertise
• Experience transitioning products from prototype to serial production
• Experience improving manufacturing processes and production workflows
