Telecom Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Telecom Security Specialist to enhance the security posture of their telecommunications network and systems in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK . This role is responsible for identifying security vulnerabilities, implementing robust security measures, and responding to security incidents. You will work closely with network operations and IT teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests on telecom networks and systems.
• Design, implement, and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to the telecommunications environment.
• Monitor security alerts and events, investigate potential threats, and respond effectively to security incidents.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies impacting the telecom sector.
• Provide security awareness training to staff and collaborate with internal teams to ensure security best practices are followed across Liverpool .

Requirements

• Proven experience in information security, with a specialization in telecommunications security.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
• Familiarity with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CCNA Security are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage security risks in the Merseyside area.
