About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Field Technician to join their operations in Birmingham . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and quality of our client's services, working directly with customers to resolve technical issues and perform essential upgrades. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including fibre optics, routers, and switches.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on network infrastructure to prevent service disruptions.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in telecommunications systems, ensuring prompt resolution of customer issues.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers, explaining technical issues clearly.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company policies while working at various field locations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and time spent on each job.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or similar role in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including cabling, fibre optics, and networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• A valid UK driving license is essential for travel to various client sites.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
