About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Installation Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh . This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic networks and communication systems, for a range of commercial clients. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and high-quality service delivery across the region. This hybrid role offers a mix of on-site work and potential remote support, requiring a proactive individual with strong technical acumen and excellent problem-solving abilities in the dynamic telecommunications sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fibre optic and copper cabling systems for telecommunications networks in Edinburgh .
• Configure and commission telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, and VoIP systems.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot faults in telecommunications infrastructure.
• Ensure all installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
• Provide technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely, addressing connectivity issues.
• Maintain detailed records of installation activities, network configurations, and test results.

Requirements

• Proven experience in telecommunications installation and network deployment.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with networking protocols and telecommunications hardware.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A valid UK driving license and the flexibility to travel within the Edinburgh area as needed.
