Telecommunications Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Telecommunications Installation Technician to join their expanding network services team in Reading . This role involves the hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure for businesses across Berkshire . You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and service delivery by installing systems such as broadband, fibre optics, and voice services. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, customer-focused, and capable of working efficiently in diverse environments, ensuring high-quality service delivery for our client's customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, switches, and fibre optic cabling.
• Perform testing and fault diagnosis on telecommunication networks to ensure optimal performance.
• Run and terminate cables (copper and fibre optic) for voice and data services.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of existing telecommunications infrastructure.
• Provide excellent customer service during on-site visits, explaining technical work clearly.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company installation standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in telecommunications installation or a related field.
• Knowledge of network cabling standards, fibre optics, and broadband technologies.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and test equipment for network analysis.
• A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel throughout the Reading area.
• Good physical condition to work in various environments, including confined spaces if required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
