About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a skilled Telecoms Fibre Engineer to join their expanding network deployment team in Bristol . This role focuses on the installation, splicing, and testing of fibre optic networks, playing a critical part in delivering high-speed broadband and communication services. You will be working outdoors and in various environments, ensuring the quality and integrity of the fibre infrastructure. This is a hands-on position for someone passionate about telecommunications and keen to contribute to the growth of essential services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fibre optic cables and associated network equipment.
- Perform fibre optic splicing, testing (OTDR), and fault location.
- Interpret network diagrams and schematics for installation purposes.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality standards and safety regulations.
- Respond to network faults and undertake emergency repairs as required.
- Document installation and test results accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in fibre optic installation and maintenance is essential.
- Proficiency with fibre optic splicing equipment and testing tools (e.g., OTDR).
- Understanding of fibre optic network principles and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid UK driving license.
- Good problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
