Telecoms Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their operations team based in Coventry . In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites across the region. You will be the face of our client, ensuring that customers receive excellent service and that their network infrastructure operates at peak performance. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent technical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dedicated team committed to delivering reliable connectivity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic tests on network equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults, ensuring minimal downtime and adhering to service level agreements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers, answering queries and resolving issues effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, parts used, and time spent on site using mobile reporting tools.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical role within the telecoms industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including mobile, broadband, and fibre optics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.
