About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their team, primarily serving the Birmingham area. This hands-on role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for installations, repairs, and upgrades, providing essential technical support to a diverse client base. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in a mobile capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems, including broadband, voice, and data services.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network equipment to prevent potential issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls, diagnosing and resolving technical faults efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare detailed reports on installation and maintenance activities.
• Provide on-site technical assistance and training to end-users as required.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical role within the telecoms sector .
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DSL, and fiber optics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
• Valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the Birmingham region.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.
